2 More Days Until We Leave for Warmer Climes

(Rochester, IL)

It's been a wonderful weekend. The Milliken Choir performance on Friday evening was outstanding, to say the least. The performance at our church is the first one of a 2 week tour.

Bought a new washing machine on Saturday since the old one started leaking and then just quit in the middle of a spin cycle. At least it was at the end of the rinse cycle. Wet clothes sure are hard to wring out by hand.

Spent Saturday evening visiting with several of Gail's cousins at our annual "Cousins Holiday Party." Always good to catch up with everyone and there's always plenty of good food. We were missing some people. One passed away this past fall and another is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. Sure makes a person appreciate each and every minute of every day.

Attended church on Sunday and had a wonderful lunch with Paul & Candy Stivers. They are such good friends and will be checking on our house while we are gone. AND, Paul will take care of snow removal at the post office and bank for Dan. That is, if it snows. :)

Then since the weather cooperated with a high temperature of 65, we spent the afternoon getting some more things moved into the motorhome and flushing the antifreeze out and filling the water tank. Still need to get the clothes and groceries loaded, but will have plenty of time on Monday and Tuesday. I will be going into work for 3-4 hours on Monday morning, but then NO MORE WORK for at least 6 weeks.

We plan to meet up with Dan's brother and his wife at Auburn about 8:00 for breakfast on Wednesday morning, then it's off to Nashville for the Grand Ole Opry and then on to Dauphin Island, Alabama.

That's all for now. Need to get some sleep since I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am.

More later,
Gail
